TESTING:
Registering for the SAT & ACT
Seniors, if you still need to take the SAT or the ACT, or if you are not satisfied with your current score, registration for both tests is now open. You should take either the SAT or the ACT if you are planning to apply to 4-year colleges or universities.
To register for the SAT, visit https://www.collegeboard.org.
To register for the ACT, visit https://www.act.org.
Fee waivers are available for those who qualify.

**NOTE:
Some colleges have opted to continue to be test-optional for students entering college in Fall 2024** 
Senior October To Do List
● Check in with Ms. Chun and Mrs. Apana to make sure you’re on the
right track
● Finalize your college list
● Finalize your essays
● Keep track of ALL deadlines
● If the college(s) you are applying to requires a letter of
recommendation or you would like to strengthen your application, ask
teachers and counselors now. Be ready to provide an updated PDS
(personal data sheet) and answer questions that will provide more
information about yourself
● Don’t hesitate to ask questions about the application process
(example: How do I send transcripts?)
● Complete and submit transcript request forms to the College Center
● FILL OUT COLLEGE APPLICATIONS!
● Finalize and submit EARLY ACTION college applications
● If applicable or you wish to send your test scores, send your ACT/SAT
test scores to the colleges you are applying to
● Register to retake the SAT or ACT if necessary
● Start looking for scholarships
● *Don’t forget to be on the lookout for the FAFSA (studentaid.gov)

UH Manoa - COP (College Opportunities Program)
Hawaii high school seniors who are residents have an opportunity for admission to the University of Hawaii at Manoa through the College  Opportunities Program (COP).
COP seeks applicants who may be:
1) lacking the minimum UHM admission requirements (usually do not meet the gpa requirement),
2) are economically disadvantaged,
3) in need of more support transitioning to a 4-year college and
4) can serve as a positive role model to underrepresented communities at  Manoa.
The COP application is open.
The deadline is January 11, 2024.
 
If selected, students will be required to participate in a summer program. Participants who successfully complete the summer program will be admitted to UHM starting in Fall 2024 and advance to the COP first-year program. For more information check out their website:
