What is the C3 Journey?

The C3 Journey is a path of rich and customized experiences designed for each Kahuku student to transition successfully from high school to College, Career, and Community (C3).  This Journey provides students with a Sense of Place while in high school and a Sense of Purpose while preparing for life after high school via a Personal Transition Plan (PTP), career and college exploration, civic responsibility, goal setting and action planning, identification of resources, and a plan for implementation and perseverance.

How does the C3 Journey work?
Students will participate in an array of varied experiences in the areas of College, Career, and Community (C3) through all of their scheduled classes.  They will work on tasks outlined in a portfolio and given time and opportunities through English classes, field trips, Career and Technology Education (CTE) presentations, service projects, Advisory periods, guidance classes, transition classes, class meetings, and school events.  These opportunities will be grade specific, as well as school-wide.  The C3 Journey concludes with Seniors completing their portfolio and reflecting on their path and sharing their key experiences and knowledge gained relative to their Sense of Place and Sense of Purpose here at Kahuku.

Why C3 Journey?
The C3 Journey is an integral part of a student's high school life and provides the tools and vision for future College, Career, and Community (C3) opportunities.  The C3 Journey provides students with the opportunity to share their voice as school community stakeholders for current and future Kahuku students.  The C3 Journey also incorporates a half credit for a Personal Transition Plan (PTP).  The completion of a PTP is a high school graduation requirement toward students earning
a Hawai'i high school diploma (BOE Policy 102-15).
