NO PARKING AT THE DISTRICT PARK FROM DECEMBER TO JUNE 
Due to the construction project at Kahuku District Park, students will not be able to park in the parking lot 
next to KVA.  No parking will be available on campus for any students for school year 2018-2019.

HIGH SCHOOL WELCOME BACK DANCE... 
ALOHA high school students. The welcome back dance will be held next week Thursday night, 
August 16th, 2018 from 7-10PM at the cafeteria. FREE FOR ALL WHO PADI THEIR STUDENT 
GOVERNMENT FEES. Please make sure to pay your student fees before then. 
Quick note: STUDENT GOVERNMENT FEES= $10 for the whole year. To get into ONE dance it 
will cost you $10. Pay your dues and save some money for Soda Bomb!!   K. Kalama

DETENTION FOR UNEXCUSED ABSENCES
Student will be assigned one hour of detention for the THIRD and every 
unexcused absence for EVERY period.  An hour of detention will also be added for each 
unexcused absence for each period. You will get a pass to Ms. Aga's class R201 after school
from your last period teacher to serve your detention. Detention time not served will turn into 
an obligation and will need to be served before being cleared for activities that require an obligation 
clearance. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Aga or call her at 305-7446. Mahalo.

YOU CAN SUBMIT YOUR NOTES FOR STUDENTS' EXCUSED ABSENCES VIA EMAIL
All excused absences (pls. see the RedBook for excusable reasons) require a note from a parent/guardian
within three (3) days of the excused absence.  The email address is [email protected]

PERSONAL ITEM DELIVERY
Due to the amount of personal items delivered to students, unless it is deemed
an emergency, students will need to come to the front office to get their items during 
recess or lunch. Instructional time will not be interrupted and school personnel will not
be utilized for the purpose of delivering personal items.            - Admin

STUDENT OFF CAMPUS PASS
Students leaving campus during the school day are required to have an official Student Pass.
To expedite the process of a student getting a Student Pass, parents/guardians are advised to
call the school at 305-7380 in the morning or send a note with your child and drop it off at
Q-0 before school starts. Without prior notice, the wait time to get a student out of class 
will vary depending on the availability of staff. We do not call classrooms during 
instructional time. 

Please include the following information in the note for a Student Pass:
1. Date note was written
2. Child's legal name and grade level 
3. Date and time to be released
4. Reason for early release
5. Current phone number
6. Parent/guardian signature

Students who are 18 years old may sign themselves out of school, however, parent/guardians 
will be notified and students will need administrative approval to be allowed back on campus.
You will be asked to present identification when picking up your child. Students will only be
released to their parent/guardian documented in school records (this does not include 
Emergency Card contacts). The Student Pass must be returned to the front office if the 
student returns to school before the end of the day. - Admin

AIR RIFLERY 
All students in grades 9-12 who would like to join Varsity Air Riflery please see Coach Ron at the 
Air Rifle Range.  Practice is 3-5 Monday - Thursday and Saturday 9-12. -Coach Ron

CONGRATULATIONS
To our Varsity Football Team for their win against Konawaena High School! Hope to see 
everyone this Saturday for our home game against Punahou. Varsity game only...Go Big Red!

INTERLEAGUE GAMES 
Inter league Football Games:
1. Every one must purchase a ticket.
2. Students show their Activity Pass at the ticket Booth to purchase a student price ticket, $5.00
3. Present your tickets at the gate.
4. All others:  $8.00 General Admission $6.00 Military with an ID, Senior Citizens 62 years Older.
5. Fans may also down load the GO FAN App and purchase their tickets on line.
Select the Oahu Interscholastic League, select the Game your purchasing for, and the type of tickets.
Present your phone at the gate showing the tickets purchased to gate personal, who will check off the 
tickets needed. Saturday 8/11, Kahuku vs Punahou  Varsity Only, 6:30pm Start Time, TV Game, Ticket

CROSS COUNTRY 
For those interested in Cross Country Coach Aaron is having a team meeting at 2:00 at the track.  Come
if your interested in running competitively or getting in shape for your main sport. We go at your pace,

TRY OUTS FOR GIRLS JV SOFTBALL 
JV Softball Try Outs will be on Monday, August 13th at 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm at Hau'ula District Park.  
Please be sure you are cleared for try outs. Clearance means you gave the trainers a current 
sports physical and signed assumption of risk form. The trainers will give you an obligation form to 
sign off at the office, after you have all your signatures, you will take your cleared form to practice 
and give to Coach Chas.     W. Anae

JV SOFTBALL TRY OUTS 
Monday, August 13th to Wednesday, August 15th at Hau'ula District Park, 4:30 p.m.  Please take care 
of your clearance to play sports.  Current physical and Assumption of Risk must be turned into trainers
