Aloha, I'd like to welcome you to my classes. After 22 years in Q-4, I've moved this year to P28 . This year I'm teaching Japanese levels 1-5 and 3 classes of ukulele/Polynesian music. Most community members know that I'm a fanatic of music and enjoy playing as well as listen to different types of music. I've taught Japanese here at Kahuku High & Inter. since 1987-88 school year. I've enjoyed almost every part of it.
I graduated from BYU-Hawaii with a music education degree and a minor in Japanese. I received my masters in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment in 2009 from Walden University. I was honored to receive the Fulbright Scholarship in Japanese in 1992 which involved a summer in Saitama, Japan studying the details of the Japanese language.
I enjoy sponsoring Japanese high school students to Kahuku, where our students are given the opportunity to use their language with native speakers. The Japanese and the Calabash Club students also participate by providing the entertainment and some of the instruction.
I hope that you will enjoy the complexity of the Japanese language, and even though it is very difficult, you will learn something that will help you in your future.
