Hawaii families can sign up for free copies of the SAT and ACT PowerPrep Programs, thanks to eKnowledge. Valued at $200, the software is made available by a nonprofit alliance involving eight-time MLB All-Star Chipper Jones of the Atlanta Braves and 20 other professional athletes from the NFL and MLB.

Now in its eighth year of the program, eKnowledge has donated more than 200,000 programs at a value of $40 million, said spokesman Michael McCracken, the school and press liaison.

PowerPrep Programs include 11 hours of video instruction, practice tests, sample questions and more than 3,000 files of supplemental test prep material. Students select the training they need and study at their own pace.
