2023-24 SCHOLARSHIP POSTINGS:
Since 1984, the Horatio Alger Association has awarded college to
deserving students. Through nationally recognized educational programs,
the Association reaches out directly to our nation’s young people with a
message of hope, opportunity, responsibility, and perseverance. In keeping
with the mission of the Horatio Alger Association, the scholarship programs
provide financial assistance to students throughout the nation who have
significant financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in
overcoming personal adversity. The scholarships are given to deserving
students each year and range in award value from $10,000 to $25,000.
Eligibility criteria include: high school junior, demonstrated critical financial
need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income), and United States
citizenship.

● Graduate from a Hawaii high school in 2024
● Have a 2.75 or higher GPA verified by a school transcript that’s

● Have participated in community service projects in addition to school
activities during their high school years
● Write a personal statement and an essay about community and
well-being
● Submit letters of recommendation from two faculty members,
coaches, or mentors from your school that detail your dedication and
determination, academic performance, and personal character.

University of Hawaii System Common Scholarship
This UH common application encompasses various system and campus
scholarships that spans all University of Hawaii 4-year and Community
College campuses. We highly encourage you to apply to this scholarship if
you will be attending a UH campus next year. Scholarships will be matched
to the information that you put into your application (example: intended
home campus). You need to have applied to a home campus and been
accepted to complete this common scholarship application. A 900 word
personal statement, a transcript, at least one recommender who will write a
letter of recommendation, and completing the FAFSA are required
components. There may be additional essays or questions that need to be
completed depending on the campus.
Ambassador of Aloha Scholarship
This scholarship is for high school seniors or current undergraduates
planning to attend full-time studies in the upcoming school year at an
accredited college.
Eligibility Criteria:
● Hawaii resident
● U.S. citizen
● Participate in one or more of “Duke’s Sports” with a record of
accomplishments and an intent to compete in college. Duke’s sports
include volleyball, canoe paddling, swimming, diving, surfing, water
polo, sailing, kayaking.
● In need of financial assistance
● Maintaining a minimum of 3.0 gpa
● Actively demonstrating the aloha spirit through leadership and
community involvement

Hawaii Schools Federal Credit Union is offering a $1000 scholarship for a
2024 high school graduate who exhibits educational promise and a
determination to complete post high school educational endeavors.
Applicants must be a member of Hawaii Schools Federal Credit Union at
the time of submitting the application, entering his/her freshman year in an
accredited college located in the United States, and have a cumulative GPA
of 3.0 or higher. Required materials include: a completed application, an
essay, an official transcript, a completed high school background report and
two completed recommendation forms.
ELIGIBILITY/LIMITATIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
The following are the eligibility requirements:
1. Applicant must be a senior graduating from a high school or homeschool program during
the 2023-2024 school year.
2. Applicant must be a dependent with a current identification and privilege card.
3. The sponsor of the applicant must meet ONE of the following eligibility requirements:
• Active-duty U.S. Military member currently assigned in Hawaii
• Active-duty U.S. Military member on a remote assignment from Hawaii
• Retired U.S. Military member residing in Hawaii
• Full-time Hawaii National Guard member**
• Full-time U.S. Military Reserve member residing in Hawaii**
• Deceased U.S. Military member with applicant residing in Hawaii

The Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii Foundation promotes the
pursuit of higher education by awarding over $30,000 in scholarships to
deserving Hawaii high school students. Applicants must be a Hawaii
resident, a 2024 graduating senior with a cumulative gpa of at least a 3.50
or higher through the first semester of the 2023-2024 school year. The
applicant must be accepted to a four-year college. The application requires
3 letters of recommendation and a two-page essay (the two-page limitation

Applications for the 2024 Bayer Hawaii Life Sciences Scholarship are now
available for high school seniors who are graduating this year and planning
to pursue a college degree in life sciences.
If you are (or know of) a graduating high school senior who will be attending a 4-year college and will be
majoring in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or Entrepreneurship and committed to ʻāina, kaiāulu,
lāhui, then we encourage you to apply.
The Ukulele Festival Hawaii Scholarship Program is funded by Ukulele Festival
Hawaii, a non-profit organization founded in 2004 by Roy and Kathy Sakuma.
Ukulele Festival Hawaii builds public awareness and interest in the ukulele as an
instrument of virtuoso quality promoting Hawaii’s arts and culture through
education, scholarships, and the annual free ukulele festivals. Eligible applicants
must: 1. Be a graduating high school senior and resident of Hawaii. 2. Be
accepted for admission to an accredited college or university. 3. Enjoy playing the
ukulele. 4. Must be of good character. 5. Demonstrate financial need.
ARCHIVED SCHOLARSHIPS - DATES HAVE PASSED!
Since 2005, Hawaii Self Storage (HSS) has awarded financial scholarships
to eligible students to pursue and obtain a college degree. This program is
designed to help and support students financially to develop into future
leaders in our community. 10 students will be selected for the $1,000
scholarships (renewable for up to 4 years). Awards will be based on the
required written essay and eligibility. Applicants must be a Hawaii resident
and current high school senior, graduating from a high school in the State of
Hawaii.
The Fukunaga Scholarship Foundations' scholarships are awarded to
encourage high school students in the State of Hawaii who intend to have a
career in Business to pursue higher education at any accredited four-year
college or university. Four-year scholarships are awarded to students just
entering college in increments of $5,000 annually. Assuming that eligibility is
maintained, a total of $20,000 will be awarded over four years. The
Fukunaga Scholarship Foundation anticipates awarding ten new
scholarships for the 2024-2025 school year.

extent permitted by law. To be considered for the Pauahi Foundation
scholarships, applicants must enroll in a two or four-year accredited
institution in Hawaii or the United States recognized by Kamehameha
Schools, enroll in a classified, degree seeking program, including
vocational and trade programs, and be a full-time undergraduate or
graduate student. Required documents include: Online application, one
personal essay, list of extracurricular/community service activities, FAFSA
submission summary, and high school transcript. Supplemental documents
such as letters of recommendations, art portfolios and additional essay.

From this group, finalists from each school district, the Hawaii Catholic Schools, and the Hawaii Association of
Independent Schools will be selected to receive an additional $2,000 scholarship.

least one year from the scholarship application due date) and must attend a
university, college, community college, vocational or trade school on a

High achieving students are eligible for academic scholarships from UH Manoa.
Students with at least a 3.7 GPA, who submit an application to UH Manoa by
January 5, 2024 can be selected to provide additional documentation (list of
activities/achievements & a short answer essay) for the Regents and Provost
Achievement Scholarships. The Regents Scholarship includes a full tuition
scholarship, $4,000 per year stipend, and $2,000 one-time travel grant. The
Provost Achievement Scholarship is a $10,000 per year scholarship. If a student
has applied for admissions by the deadline, is accepted to UH Manoa and is
eligible for these scholarships, he/she will receive instructions and information
about how to submit additional required documentation for the New Warrior
Scholarship consideration.

The 2024 APIA (Asian & Pacific Islander Americans) Scholarship
application is now open. APIA Scholars has two scholarship programs:
APIA Scholarship and the AANAPISI Scholarship. Both scholarships focus
on students who live at or below the poverty line, are the first in their
families to attend college, are representative of the APIA community’s
diversity and have placed a strong emphasis on community service and
leadership and also have strong academic achievement. There is one
scholarship application for both awards. Applicants eligible for the APIA
Scholarship will be considered for the AANAPISI Scholarship if they meet
