Aloha ʻĀina Recycling Drives (AARDs) provide opportunities for schools, families & community members to drop off a variety of goods for reuse and recycling. They are held on Saturdays at Oʻahu schools, and proceeds from HI-5 containers, scrap metal and used cooking oil go directly to the school. Stop by to drop off miscellaneous recyclable items! We will be collecting: 1) scrap metals (bicycles, large & small appliances like refrigerators and microwaves, etc.) 2) electronics (including computers, TVs, laptops, printer cartridges, cell phones, cameras, game systems, & more), 3) Batteries 4) Clothing/household items 5) Used household cooking oil 6) HI-5 beverage cans & bottles 7) Confidential documents (collected in locked bins by Goodwill Hawaiʻi and shredded securely at their headquarters at Mapunapuna) The Aloha ʻĀina Recycling Drives are coordinated by Kokua Hawaii Foundation as part of the 3R's School Recycling Program and are made possible through sponsorship from Schnitzer Steel and support from more local recycling partners, including Pacific Biodiesel, Goodwill Hawaiʻi, T & N Computer Recycling, Interstate Batteries, RRR Recycling Services, Aloha Overstock, & Refrigerant Recycling.
